Music & Resilience and the Gazawa refugee community in Bologna
Music & Resilience is collaborating with Bologna per Gaza in its commitment to supporting the Gaza refugee community in Bologna: these are people (mainly women and children) who arrived in Bologna in the summer of 2024.
Musical activities began in December 2024, with sessions held once a month on Saturday mornings from 10:30 to 13:30. These sessions are facilitated by musicians and music therapists from Music & Resilience.
The places were several:

At the beginning, activities were carried out with the entire community, and the first meetings focused on mutual musical knowledge. Then the work proceeded in two directions: activities with women and activities with minors. With the women, we worked on voice and rhythm, and with songs from their cultural heritage. With the minors, we began a psychosocial approach to music.
When we resumed activities for the second year in October 2025, a group of men also formed, expressing a desire to work on the Italian language through songs and a collaboration with the women’s choir Le Core.
