From 18 to 23 March 2025 Music & Resilience joined the festival BOZA! Il Mediterraneo risuona (BOZA! The Mediterranean resounds) in Lampedusa, invited by Mediterranean Hope.

Aurora, Chiara M., Chiara T., Emiliano, Francesca, Luca, Marco, Melissa, Miriam and Nicola from M&R joined the festival staff working in music with the whole community in a truly transversal way: children and adults, migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, the elderly; in schools, on the streets, in libraries, on farms; using idioms, techniques, voices and instruments from every part and culture of the world.

It is impossible to remain indifferent to such a synergy, where seriously ‘in music we are one’, with no room for doubt. Music in the hands of the community is more powerful than we could have dreamed.

BOZA! A powerful word that, in many West African languages, means “I made it,” “I broke through the border.”
It is the cry of those who arrive and those who can now continue to dream.
A word that holds life, victory, promise, and future.
A word that becomes music,
turning into a chorus of voices carrying hope.
