Assumoud Kindergarten teachers in music training with PM, July 2018

In August we received a further, generous donation from our friends in Sherborne (Dorset), UK, through the Cheap Street Methodist Church committee, to help us to continue “Music and Resilience”. Our warmest thanks to everyone who contributed.

4 Prima Materia professionals are planning the next visit to Lebanon in mid October, combining follow-up, evaluation and 2019 planning meetings with specific actions:

  • music therapy coordinator Deborah Parker will be presenting a paper at the NISCVT Annual Mental Health Conference, 19-20 October 2018 at the American University Beirut;
  • vocal trainer Emiliano Nigi will run a conference workshop, and give 2 days training to NISCVT workers;
  • community music coordinator Henry Brown will begin a training program for the student volunteers in Saida and Beddawi centres, to equip them for peer-to-peer education within the community music groups;
  • coordinator and documentation manager Dario Gentili will be collecting material for a forthcoming documentary on how the project has developed during the past 3 years.

Keep supporting us – all contributions represent vital sustenance for M&R – Thank you!
