M&R T-shirts!

Thanks to a collaboration with our friends from Arché onlus and the Libera Orchestra Popolare di Marsala, we are making t-shirts for Music & Resilience! They are mde at the Sappusi Social Centre, in collaboration with the Juvenile Justice Centre of Palermo in the detached office of the Marsala Juvenile Social Services Office.

The t-shirts will be available soon for those who want to support the project, stay tuned!

To donate, in support of our 2022 M&R Summer Camp in lebanon - thank you! PM has just held the Orientation week-end for the Italian team who will support the 2022 M&R Summer Camp, which will take place during the first 2 weeks in August, involving over 100 children and students from the Palestinian camp communities. M&R and MARS in Madrid!

On 10-11 November 2021, we were invited to present our projects in Madrid, during the 6th Conference organized by AEOS (the Spanish Association of Symphony Orchestras) under the title: "AVANTI: a future full of music!" Our representative, Deborah Parker, participated in a round table on the theme: "Education, Diversity and Transformation", contributing to the discussion with documentation and reflections from our work in Lebanon and from the MARS online resources.

“Music and Resilience” article preview!

We are delighted to present the preview of the peer-reviewed article, "Adjusting the Pitch" written by key members of the M&R project team, Deborah Parker, Dario Gentili, Henry Brown and Alberto Balducci, which has been accepted by the international journal Voices, for publication in July 2021. Structured as an ethnographic exploration of action learning, the article narrates and analyses the project's developments and transformations during its first 8 years, considering both its successes and challenges. Music & Resilience 17-18 Annual Report

In 2018 M&R completes its 7th year of continuous support and action for the development of music resources as a protection factor for the young generations of the Palestinian and other refugee communities in Lebanon. It’s all happening now!

A small window on the extensive Summer Music program now taking place in the refugee camps of Beddawi, Wavel and in Saida, involving around 60 Palestinian and Syrian children and adolescents. This year the team of 16 music teachers, facilitators and students comes from Italy, France, Spain and UK, including trainees from our Erasmus Plus project MARS. Fund raising evening for M&R

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of our "Serata Palestinese" on 18th March; a highly enjoyable evening with presentation conference, a delicious Arabic supper, and lots of music. Funds raised will go towards covering the live costs of  this year's project actions, the next of which starts next week: a 10-day Community Music workshop in Beddawi and Saida refugee camps, led by Prima Materia and supported by MARS training students from Italy, Spain and UK.
