Assumoud Music Flotilla
This July, Music & Resilience took part in the MUSA & Resilience 2026 project, a training exchange that brought a group of Palestinian students from Lebanon to Italy. The project aimed to deliver a non-formal education programme involving young musicians from Palestinian refugee camps as peer educators.Three public concerts were given at the end of the two weeks programme.
M&R @ World Congress of Music Therapy 2026 (Italy)
Music & Resilience took part in the 18th World Congress of Music Therapy, which was held in Bologna (Italy) from 7 to 12 July 2026. Alberto, Luca and Marco gave three separate presentations:
- a pre-conference session on the topic of musical intervention in humanitarian crisis contexts, alongside Indra Selvarajah
- a brief overview of the project, with particular emphasis on our work in Lebanon with Palestinian refugees and in Ukraine with internally displaced persons
- a round-table discussion on the topic of music therapy in crisis contexts, shared with other professionals
Music and Resilience Flottilla
During the summer, 10 young Italian musicians will participate free of charge in a non-formal education program alongside 5 young Palestinian musicians who, as peer educators, will share their musical heritage, their stories, and their experiences of resilience. Together, they will create an original concert born from the meeting of different traditions, languages, and sensitivities: a true musical crossing that portrays the Mediterranean as a space of dialogue, solidarity, and freedom.

M&R in Ukraine: December 2025
We have just returned from our sixth mission to Ukraine in support of the displaced population in Lviv, accompanying Mediterranea Saving Humans once again on what was their 22nd mission there, that took place from 29 November to 7 December.
It is wonderful to see how the Ukrainian refugees are still alive: finding tables laden with food waiting for us is not only a warm welcome and a testament to how important ‘being together’ is at all levels, but also how this population has not given up and succumbed to despair, but is still capable of rejoicing and sharing, of creating and sharing human warmth.
M&R @ La musica, la guerra, la pace
Music & Resilience spoke at the conference "music, war, peace" held in Florence on Saturday, 22nd November.
Alberto presented the project, talking about the community approach to music as a means of cultural and psychosocial support for marginalised and deprived communities, with particular reference to our experiences with Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and displaced people in Ukraine, and shared this with other projects with a variety of approaches.

M&R Lebanon Summer Camp 2025
Music & Resilience continues its work with its Palestinian friends, and this year's eagerly awaited August Summer Camp involved around 80 young people from seven different refugee camps, with the traditional final concert featuring Arabic pieces and original arrangements of European songs.
M&R in Ukraine: July 2025
M&R is actively carrying on with its missions in Ukraine with our friends from Mediterranea Saving Humans: the two organisations joined forces again for Mediterranea's 20th mission in Lviv, from 10 to 20 July. Our joint work is progressing. We have noticed an improvement in musical relationships with the people involved, a greater ability to engage in sharing and creation (two skills that are fundamental to psychosocial well-being).
We also participated in a day organised by the local music therapy association, offering a workshop on psychosocial activities.
M&R @ BRIDGES – 13th European Music Therapy Conference
Marco and Luca attended the 13th European Music Therapy Conference in Hamburg (Germany), 23-27 July, whose topic this year was "bridges", with a presentation titled Music & Resilience: Community Music Therapy as a Tool for Inclusion and Well-Being for Refugee Youth. It was a testament to a practice that, day after day, strives to build bridges through music: between people, cultures, fragilities, and possibilities.
Together for Palestine in Bologna
On 13 June M&R participated in the organisation of a fundraising dinner in Bologna together with the local Gaza community and Bologna per Gaza. Together we cooked, talked, watched and shared! It was a great success.
